About Sisters in Faith
After hosting a virtual viewing of Pilgrim Center of Hope’s Catholic Women’s Conference, the team leading this event were challenged with a question. Father Juan Carlos asked, “How will you keep the fire going for the ladies that attend? What’s next?” Irma Bickel responded with the idea of creating a women’s group. It had been stirring in her heart for months, maybe even years. With Irma’s heartwarming idea and a little bit of muscle from Cristina Contreras, Sisters in Faith began in the Fall of 2022.
Our Mission/Vision
We want to provide nourishment for the mind, body, and spirit for all the women in our community. While doing so we want to inspire the women to practice the Catholic faith through leadership and services in the home, parish, and community.
2023 SIF Activities
- Donated food to families for Thanksgiving.
- Donated gifts to a family for Christmas.
- Hosted a viewing of the Pilgrim Center of Hope’s Catholic Women’s Conference at Holy Name Church.
- Hosted a Loteria.
- Donated about 25 bags of clothes to St. Stephens.
- Donated coats to a hospital where a Sister in Faith works.
- Donated clothes to a Women’s Shelter.
- Contributed funds to other ministries such as the Knights of Columbus, Shine, Young Adults, and more.
- Hosted two rummage sales.
- And more!
Upon paying membership dues, members receive
- A SIF t-shirt.
- A goodie bag.
- An invitation to join the private Facebook group.
- Invitations to Sisters’ Nights Out.
- Emailed reminders of the monthly meetings.
- Faith, fun and fellowship!
Membership dues vary and are paid annually. Members who pay dues will receive a t-shirt with the “Sisters in Faith” logo and a goodie bag!
- Returning members: $15
- New Members: $20
NOTE: Membership is renewed every January and is valid from January to December.
